Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and lead opening/closing tasks to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a proven track record in retail leadership. You will help manage payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide customer service excellence.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms and floors.
