Job summary

Rack Room Shoes in Morrisville, NC is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and delivering an outstanding shopping experience.

You will lead, train and guide staff, manage POS transactions, inventory, merchandising, scheduling, and loss prevention, and step in for the Store Manager when needed to keep the store running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience; provide service training and leadership to staff.
• Process POS transactions in line with policy; handle sales, discounts, refunds, loyalty; execute open/close procedures.
• Oversee Inventory Control: shipping/receiving, price changes, markdowns, inventory counts.
• Lead Sales Floor merchandising: placement, upkeep, signage, promotional materials.
• Manage Payroll: scheduling, payroll budget compliance, time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports; reinforce operational standards.
• Oversee Loss Prevention and asset protection per policy.
• Develop understanding of day-to-day operations.
