Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in all daily operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and exceptional customer service. You will lead and train staff, resolve issues quickly, and help drive sales and store performance.

The role emphasizes a hands-on approach to operations, loss prevention, merchandising, and staff development, with a focus on maintaining a welcoming and efficient shopping environment for customers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safety and welfare of employees and customers is a primary responsibility.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience; train and lead staff.
• Process POS transactions per policy including sales, discounts and refunds.
• Manage inventory: shipping/receiving, pricing changes, markdowns, damaged merchandise, physical inventory.
• Oversee merchandising and visual presentation to meet company standards.
• Handle payroll-related tasks: scheduling, budget compliance, time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports; reinforce operational standards.
• Support loss prevention and asset protection policies.
• Develop a complete understanding of day-to-day store operations.
