Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Team Captain of On Field Operations to lead a high-energy sales floor team and deliver athlete-first service. You’ll coach teammates, manage priorities, and ensure strong merchandising, pricing, and customer experience across the store.

You’ll build schedules, participate in hiring and onboarding, enforce safety and SOPs, and strive to create an inclusive, welcoming environment where teammates and athletes are both supported.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in retail or customer-facing roles.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by providing clear, accurate information about products and assortment while maintaining merchandising standards.
• Develop 30-60-90 day plans with the SM and ASM; align staffing, initiatives, and budgets with goals.
• Create effective schedules and assign workload to maximize efficiency while meeting payroll and financial targets.
• Build and lead a strong team; coach, train, and manage performance including reviews and development.
• Enforce safety, loss prevention and SOPs; hold teammates accountable to policies.
