Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. is seeking a Team Captain of On Field Operations to lead store-level execution, coaching teammates and delivering an athlete-first experience on the sales floor.

You will manage priorities with the store leadership team, oversee schedules, and drive strong merchandising, pricing, and customer service across all customer-facing areas. This role requires coaching, accountability, and teamwork to win every shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional athlete experiences by understanding customer needs and offering informed product guidance.
• Maintain merchandising/presentation standards with floor sets, pricing, and inventory.
• Support loyalty programs, warranty sales, and enrollment initiatives.
• Assist with 30-60-90 day plans for department priorities with leadership input.
• Develop schedules and allocate workload to maximize efficiency and payroll targets.
• Lead as Head Coach when applicable, including store opening/closing and front-end duties.
• Communicate department goals and progress to direct reports regularly.
• Drive staffing decisions and compliance with policies and safety standards.
