Job summary

You will supervise store teams, manage scheduling and labor, monitor budgets and KPIs, and partner with department heads to plan, execute and optimize merchandising and operating initiatives while maintaining compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading store teams toward customer service and performance goals.
• Skilled in using KPIs and data to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in achieving favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in service.
• Lead merchandising and operating initiatives with department heads.
• Develop action plans from survey results and communicate to associates.
• Identify store opportunities with department heads and implement solutions.
• Model customer service excellence and resolve issues.
• Oversee total store operations in store manager’s absence.
• Aim to meet weekly, period, and annual sales, labor, and profit budgets.
• Drive sales by maximizing department contributions while reducing shrink.
• Contribute to budgets and discuss financial performance with associates.
• Analyze competitive landscape and promote inclusive leadership.
• Coordinate with field staff to achieve division plans.
• Build relationships with community organizations.
• Work with union reps if applicable.
• Communicate information to associates.
• Serve as liaison to managers on plans.
• Assist in staffing and retention.
• Provide performance feedback.
• Assist with labor management and costs to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Support adoption of technology tools.
• Develop leadership bench strength.
• Supervise and coach direct reports and conduct reviews.
• Perform essential functions with/without accommodations.
