Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store under the Store Manager's direction. You will supervise staff, handle merchandising, and prepare deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will open/close the store several days a week, train employees, manage stock, and ensure planograms and cash procedures are followed to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling training and safety meetings for staff.
• Follow processes for merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and manage planograms.
• Ensure cash control and deposits are processed correctly.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
