Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, high‑performing store with a customer‑first focus. You will assist with supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and cash handling while maintaining profitability and protecting assets.

The role includes duties such as opening/closing the store, training employees, and ensuring policy compliance. Prior retail and supervisory experience is preferred for this full‑time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service leadership and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise through receiving, stocking, restocking, and planogram implementation.
• Support inventory accuracy, damages, markdowns, and paperwork; assist deposits.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposit procedures.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
