Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. At the direction of the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and handle deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will also oversee scheduling, training, safety meetings, inventory control, and cash procedures, including refunds and overrides.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, displays, and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure cashier integrity, cash control, deposits, and refunds.
• Assist in Store Manager's absence to oversee operations.
