Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the direction of the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits and loss prevention.

You will open/close the store, train employees, conduct safety meetings, and ensure planograms and policies are followed while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Customer service oriented and able to train others.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with planograms.
• Support cash control procedures and deposits; assist in store management in the manager's absence.
