Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help keep a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and support profitability while protecting assets.

Key duties include staff scheduling, training, cashier accountability, planogram adherence, and inventory control. This role requires flexible scheduling, including opening/closing duties, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages/markdowns.
• Ensure planograms are implemented and merchandise presented as directed.
• Ensure cash handling integrity, refunds, overrides, and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
