Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations with a customer-first focus. You will supervise staff, handle merchandising, deposits, and ensure financial and asset protection.

Under direction of the Store Manager, you will assist with scheduling, training, planograms, inventory control, and store audits to maximize profitability while maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist in planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per established practice.
• Support financial integrity via cashier accountability; authorize refunds/overrides, count tills, deposit funds.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
