Job summary

S&G Stores is seeking a Shift Lead who serves as direct support to the store manager, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with applicable laws and Company policies. You will supervise staff and work closely with the Store Manager to maximize sales while protecting assets.

The role focuses on providing outstanding customer service, maintaining a clean store, accurately handling cash and card transactions, and executing merchandising programs to drive sales.

Qualifications

• Retail experience and customer service experience required.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for an entire shift and perform physical tasks when needed.
• Comfortable working in intermittent temperatures (inside, outside, cooler).
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and busy periods/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service leadership to all customers.
• Acknowledge and greet all customers that come into the store.
• Ensure that all company policies are being followed.
• Promote and maintain a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
• Efficiently process both cash and card transactions with integrity.
• Ensure all merchandising and marketing programs are implemented properly, including plan‑ogram integrity and sign placement.
• Ensure foodservice products are fresh and appealing by rotating products and removing out‑of‑date items.
• Monitor store activities to ensure transactions are conducted properly.
• Respond quickly to emergencies for the safety and security of customers and employees.
