Job summary

Big O Tires Store - W 151st St., Overland Park, KS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure outstanding customer service. You will manage sales, inventory, and compliance with company policies, while supporting budget goals and trainings.

The role requires reliability, strong communication, and the ability to handle vehicle-related service discussions and store administration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain state motor vehicle inspection license within 1 year.
• Previous experience in retail or automotive sales or service.
• Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to operate a computer and office equipment.
• Ability to work with hazardous materials.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license to move customer vehicles in/out of shop.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends and after hours as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with customers and staff to deliver positive experiences.
• Ensure timely opening and closing according to store hours.
• Handle all store operations including customer service, sales, shop management and office tasks.
• Promote sales by explaining benefits of services and products.
• Perform vehicle inspections and prioritize recommended products and services.
• Assist in training and execution of company programs and policies.
• Guide staff in resolving difficult customer questions or concerns.
• Set goals with the Store Manager to hit budgeted sales and profit targets.
• Support financial aspects: review P&L, balance sheets, payroll, and cash handling.
• Monitor employee productivity and assist with inventory management.
• Prepare reports and participate in weekly store meetings.
• Maintain facilities and equipment per company standards.
