Job summary

Big O Tires is seeking a Store Manager to oversee daily operations, control costs, train staff, and ensure top service standards. You will manage profitability, lead a team, and maintain store appearance while following operational procedures.

You will handle customer interactions, supervisor duties, scheduling, and performance reviews, ensuring compliance with safety and company policies in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in retail, sales or tire/automotive industries with leadership, business management, financial, and/or mechanical experience.
• Ability to obtain state Motor Vehicle Inspection license within one year of hire.
• Ability to learn concepts and use technical materials.
• Ability to operate a computer and office equipment.
• Strong verbal communication; can lead team meetings.
• Ability to perform basic math and make change.
• Availability to work holidays, weekends and after hours.
• Ability to travel overnight occasionally.
• Ability to work with hazardous materials.
• Ability to work outdoors in weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Willingness to comply with PPE regulations.
• Vision, hearing and sense of smell; detect odors.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and move inventory.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in English written and spoken.
• Must meet company pre-employment screenings.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of store operations (sales, office, shop, management).
• Ensure consistent opening/closing based on hours.
• Promote sales by explaining benefits of services/products.
• Perform vehicle inspections and prioritize needed services.
• Staff store, train, and execute company programs and procedures.
• Recommend hiring, discipline, wage adjustments, and terminations.
• Supervise staff, provide direction, training, and evaluations.
• Resolve escalated customer issues.
• Lead weekly safety and policy meetings.
• Recommend merchandising, advertising, and promotions.
• Set goals to achieve sales, gross profit, and payroll goals.
• Review financial statements and payroll projections.
