Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, drive exceptional customer service, and uphold company policies. You will lead staff, train teammates, and ensure safe, profitable store performance.

The role emphasizes merchandising, POS policy adherence, inventory and payroll responsibilities, and preventing loss while maintaining high presentation standards. Prior footwear knowledge is beneficial.

• Working knowledge of footwear, accessories and shoe care.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of Corporate and Store Operations policies and procedures.
• Understanding of standards of Store Presentation and strong visual merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience and lead staff to meet service standards.
• Handle POS transactions in line with company policy and procedures.
• Manage inventory controls, price changes and stock accuracy.
• Oversee sales floor merchandising, housekeeping and signage.
• Assist with payroll and scheduling in line with policies.
• Train and develop direct reports and reinforce operational standards.
• Support loss prevention and protect company assets.
• Aim to manage day-to-day operations effectively in the absence of the Store Manager.
