Job summary

ALDI USA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, supervise teams, and drive store performance. The role includes scheduling, developing action plans, and identifying training opportunities to grow the staff.

The position is full-time with average 38 hours per week and starting wage of $26.50 per hour, with a wage increase to $27.50 in Year 2. ALDI offers competitive wages and benefits, including a 401(k) plan and health options.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older for employment at ALDI.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
• Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
• Identify training opportunities for direct reports to improve performance.
• Model company values and foster teamwork.
• Monitor community competition and advise on necessary adjustments.
• Provide product feedback and recommendations on assortment.
• Participate in interviewing store personnel.
• Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash control procedures.
• Address customer concerns and resolve issues in leadership's absence.
• Maintain store cleanliness and signage, and manage stock levels.
• Merchandise products to maximize sales and ensure freshness and signage accuracy.
• Assist with payroll, loss prevention, and training of new employees.
• Supervise daily operations and escalate issues when needed.
• Ensure timely completion of responsibilities and high customer service levels.
