Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager to lead daily operations, including staffing, inventory, merchandising and customer service excellence. You will ensure policy adherence, safety standards, and financial integrity through cash control and loss prevention.

You will recruit and train staff, open/close the store, review performance, and maintain a clean, well-organized environment while delivering a top-tier shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and follow procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to recruit, train and develop staff in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Train employees, conduct evaluations, and address performance gaps.
• Open and close the store on a regular schedule.
• Monitor sales, inventory, and shrink to identify trends and opportunities.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage are accurate.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a safe store environment.
