Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations including staffing, training, merchandising, and customer service. You will recruit and evaluate employees, ensure compliance with labor laws, and drive daily performance on sales and inventory.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling, and process adherence. You will maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized store while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents, safety rules, procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring and termination practices.
• Awareness of cash, facility and safety control policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and policies; ensure staffing compliance.
• Provide proper training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make pay rate and advancement recommendations to improve staffing.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Ensure the store opens and closes as required and remains properly staffed.
