Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, merchandising and daily performance. You will recruit, train and evaluate employees, manage inventory and cash controls, and ensure excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, compliant workplace.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, analyzing sales trends, controlling shrink, and enforcing company policies and procedures across all store processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Preference for bilingual Spanish speakers at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps with counseling or termination if needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure policy compliance.
• Open and close the store as required; maintain staffing coverage.
