Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations in the United States. You will oversee staffing, training, merchandising, and customer service while ensuring compliance with company policies.

You will open and close the store, manage inventory, and monitor sales performance. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to drive results and maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment for customers and employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for solutions and/or counseling.
• Open and close the store on a regular basis; personally open at least twice weekly and close at least twice weekly.
• Monitor sales performance, inventory and in-stock targets; review ordering and cycle counts weekly.
• Ensure customer service excellence and a safe, clean store environment; maintain security and cash control.
