Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, merchandising, ordering and customer service. You will lead a team, drive sales, manage inventory and uphold company policies.

You will open and close the store at least twice weekly, train staff, monitor performance, enforce safety standards, and ensure a clean, secure and welcoming shopping environment for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and manage staff.
• Complies with federal and state labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Train employees, conduct evaluations and counsel or terminate when needed.
• Set pay rate recommendations and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, safety expectations and policies.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly.
• Monitor sales, inventory, and ordering to meet targets.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing and signage.
• Maintain cash control and secure store assets.
• Provide excellent customer service leadership.
• Keep the store clean, safe and well-organized.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
