Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, inventory, and customer service. You will guide employees in processing, stocking, merchandising, and loss prevention while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and federal/state regulations.

The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and hands-on involvement in daily opening and closing duties, performance reviews, and process improvements to drive sales and guest

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating procedures.
• Strong math skills for calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees under federal/state law and company policies.
• Provide proper training; conduct performance evaluations and counseling as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety and policy expectations; lead meetings.
• Open/close the store at least twice weekly and ensure proper staffing.
• Review sales and inventory data to identify trends and control costs.
