Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Missouri is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, staff, coach, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining Meijer standards.

You will drive staffing decisions, develop career paths, apply disciplinary actions when needed, and ensure training. This role requires strong communication, safety leadership, and reliable attendance to support store goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.
• Experience teaching suggestive selling and mentoring team members.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Direct and supervise day-to-day store operations to standards.
• Promote succession planning and career development for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and assist with performance decisions.
• Own P&L, drive sales and control shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Ensure team training and adherence to Meijer standards.
• Maintain store appearance and safety, with a focus on busy hours and customer experience.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and interactions.
• Mentor team members across roles to meet service and sales goals.
