Job summary

Dollar Tree in Rapid City, SD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, guest service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, opening/closing duties, and maintain clean, well-stocked sales areas.

This role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving to support store performance. Previous retail management experience is preferred; candidates must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized, protect assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and friendly store environment.
