Job summary

Family Dollar LLC in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and supervise store associates to maintain a high standard of service.

The role involves merchandising, opening/closing duties, payroll and scheduling tasks, and ensuring safety and cleanliness throughout the store. A high school diploma and prior retail management experience are favored.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and movement.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including restrooms and floors.
