Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Bakersfield, CA to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, support opening/closing procedures, and help move merchandise from delivery to sales floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; read, interpret and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (walking, standing, climbing).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and store procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors clean, trash removed, and areas presentable.
