Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager in Sebring, FL to support the Store Manager in daily operations and lead staff to meet sales and service goals. You will guide training, ensure policy compliance, and maintain a safe, welcoming store environment for customers and employees.

In this role you’ll drive merchandising standards, oversee POS procedures, inventory, scheduling, and loss prevention while stepping in for the Store Manager as needed to keep the store performing at its best.

• Strong visual merchandising skills.
• Working knowledge of footwear, accessories and shoe care.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of store policies and procedures.
• Understanding of store presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience with strong service standards.
• Handle POS transactions per policy including sales, discounts and refunds.
• Inventory control including shipping/receiving, pricing changes, markdowns and physical inventory.
• Merchandising and visual presentation to company standards and signage.
• Payroll control: scheduling, payroll budget, time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports following company policies.
• Loss prevention responsibilities to protect company assets.
• In absence of Store Manager, assume total responsibility for day-to-day operations.
