Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead a customer-first store. You will assist the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandising, and POS operations, while helping control inventory and deposits. Expect a role focused on customer service, cash handling, and daily store oversight.

The position supports opening/closing, training, and enforcing company policies to maximize profitability and protect assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and process transactions at the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash control; handle refunds and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
