Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a busy store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, deposits, and day-to-day operations to maximize profitability and protect assets.

You will lead cashiers, coordinate scheduling, and ensure compliance with company policies while delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing adequate training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with policies.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displaying.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and controlling damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation according to standards.
• Maintain financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling procedures; authorize refunds/overrides and deposit money.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
