Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervising staff, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and controls.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure merchandise is presented as directed.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, refunds, and cash control.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
