Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking a Store Assistant Manager (full-time) to support the Store Manager in all store operations, guiding a team of brand advocates to ensure an exceptional customer experience that aligns with the company’s brand values.

You will develop and motivate the team, manage merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention, and assist with training, scheduling, and store administration to help drive profitability and brand consistency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate people and resources to meet goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager to maximize profitability and ensure standards.
• Create excellent customer experiences through client focus and teamwork.
• Implement visual merchandising directives to align with brand strategies.
• Ensure replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Assist in training, operations, inventory management, store administration and related tasks.
• Develop staff and foster accountability.
• Process information through the computer system and POS register.
• Assist in hiring qualified candidates.
• Be flexible and perform tasks outside own role when needed.
