Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking a Store Assistant Manager (full-time) to partner with the Store Manager in all store operations and develop a team of brand advocates. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences aligned with the brand values.

The position requires 3–5 years of retail experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage merchandising, inventory, and safety policies. A flexible schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of retail experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate people, resources, and services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Understanding of how to develop staff with experience in staffing, coaching, counseling, etc.
• Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring consistency with company standards.
• Create amazing customer experiences through strong client focus and collaboration.
• Implement visual merchandising directives to maintain brand strategies.
• Ensure appropriate replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Ensure compliance with loss prevention and safety policies and practices.
• Assist in training, operations, sales, visual merchandising, inventory management, store administration, cleaning, and customer service.
• Foster an environment of development and accountability.
• Process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.
• Assist in hiring qualified candidates.
• Be flexible and occasionally perform work outside your role.
