Job summary

Steve Madden stores are seeking a Store Assistant Manager (full-time) to partner with the Store Manager in daily operations and team development. You will guide and motivate a team of brand advocates to deliver an exceptional customer experience aligned with our brand values.

Responsibilities include maximizing profitability through engaging customers, visual merchandising, inventory control, training, and offloading duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including loss prevention.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Experience in staffing, coaching, and staff development.
• Proficiency with POS and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection are aligned with standards.
• Create amazing customer experiences through strong client focus and collaboration, ensuring the team delivers memorable experiences.
• Partner with the Store Manager to implement visual merchandising directives to maintain brand strategies.
• Ensure appropriate replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Support loss prevention and safety policies, standards and practices.
• Assist in training, operations, administration, and customer service.
• Foster an environment of development and accountability.
• Process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.
• Assist Store Manager in hiring qualified candidates.
• Be flexible and occasionally perform work outside your specific role.
