Job summary

Rack Room Shoes in Asheville, NC seeks an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, uphold company policies, and lead the sales team to deliver exceptional service.

You will coach staff, ensure visual merchandising standards, manage POS transactions, guard assets, and drive store performance through customer care.

This role reports to the Store Manager, partners with district leadership, and contributes to a safe, welcoming shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility is the safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create, establish and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience. Maintain and reinforce current service level standards. Provide service training and leadership to staff members. Manage customer issues with a sense of urgency and to the satisfaction of our customer.
• Process POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure (Sales, Discounts and Refunds, Loyalty, Open/Closing procedures).
• Inventory control responsibilities including shipping and receiving, price changes, markdowns, singles, damaged merchandise and physical inventory.
• Sales floor merchandising and visual presentation to adhere to company standards: merchandise placement, floor maintenance and signage.
• Payroll control: scheduling, payroll budget compliance, time and attendance.
• Training and development of direct reports, adherence to policies and reinforcement of operational standards.
• Loss prevention responsibilities to protect company assets.
• Work towards a complete understanding of managing day-to-day operations.
