Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and oversee operations when the Manager on Duty is unavailable. This role involves opening/closing the store, supervising associates, and ensuring a clean, well-merchandised shopping environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, delivering customer service, managing loss prevention, front-end supervision, fitting rooms, and administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills highly desired.
• Fluency in English required for everyday interaction with customers and staff.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred for leadership.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by store needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment and enforces safety procedures.
• Provides excellent customer service and supports store leadership.
• Represents the Ross brand with professional appearance and conduct.
• Oversees merchandising, stockroom organization, and back stock processing.
• Manages front-end operations, cashier training, break scheduling, and go-backs.
• Oversees fitting rooms, cleanliness, and tag audits.
• Performs administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
