Job summary

Five Below in Des Moines, IA is seeking a motivated store leader to oversee daily operations, guest experience, and staff development. This role serves as Manager on Duty and focuses on delivering fast, friendly service while driving sales and controlling expenses.

You will train crew, manage opening/closing duties, handle cash, and coordinate merchandising with the leadership team. Flexibility for day/evening shifts and occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 years of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all crew members are Wowing the Customer through personal contact with customers.
• Trains the crew on the BEST customer service experience; ensuring fast, friendly checkout.
• Oversee the daily activities of store associates and ensure excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for quick shelf placement.
• Act as Manager on Duty, responsible for store operations, staff management, and customer service.
• Open/close the store as needed, including cash handling and security checks.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates on policies and procedures.
• Drive store sales by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Collaborate with store leadership on merchandising procedures and store recovery.
• Perform maintenance duties like cleaning and stock room upkeep.
