Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Lumberton, NC to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and ensure compliance with corporate directives and safety policies.

The role includes supervising Store Associates and maintaining a welcoming, clean store environment. The position is part-time and based on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional materials.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including cash.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures and supervise/train Store Associates.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
