Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of North Carolina LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in our neighborhood retail environment.

You will assist with daily tasks, supervise associates, help with merchandising, training, opening/closing procedures, and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping experience. This role is part-time and emphasizes guest satisfaction and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent physical activity.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Move merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Keep store areas stocked, organized and secure company assets.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and supervise/train store associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
