Job summary

Family Dollar in Burlington, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities and ensure merchandise is well-presented and stocked.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills, with the ability to train Store Associates and maintain a positive store environment. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity at our Burlington location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Provide friendly customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Support payroll, scheduling, and cash handling procedures and loss prevention.
• Train and develop Store Associates and maintain a positive, safe environment.
