Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Manager in the DC-WHEATON, MD area to drive merchandising and store operations, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards.

This role ensures accurate pricing, timely promotional execution, and a customer-ready store environment through strong workload planning and inventory management. Work hours include nights, weekends and early mornings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and company programs for compliance.
• Ensure execution of policies and standards; hold team accountable.
• Provide MOD coverage, maintain floor leadership and operational continuity.
• Lead truck execution, unloading, sorting and merchandise flow to the sales floor.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization with store leadership.
• Execute Store-In-Stock Optimization routines to drive in-stock levels and replenishment.
• Oversee Planogram execution and visual merchandising standards.
• Support a clean, organized store environment and backroom organization.
• Manage inventory control, product accuracy and stock movement.
• Execute ad sets, pricing changes, and Ship from Store fulfillment.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving with accuracy and proper documentation.
• Manage store damages procedures and shrink reduction.
• Train and coach team members; develop assigned departments.
• Partner in Asset Protection practices.
