Job summary

Gap is seeking an Assistant Manager in Manhattan Beach, CA to set the tone for the store and lead the team in delivering a best-in-class customer experience. You will drive profitable sales through customer operations, merchandising and talent development, working with the General Manager to execute store strategy.

You will coach Leaders, Experts and Brand Associates to cultivate a high-performing team, ensuring compliance and leveraging omni-channel tools to enhance the shopping journey.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of retail management experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong communication with customers and your team.
• Passionate about retail and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Support strategies and processes to drive store sales and deliver results through a customer-centric mindset.
• Recruit, hire and develop Brand Associate and Expert teams.
• Own assigned area of responsibility.
• Implement action plans to maximize efficiencies and productivity.
• Perform Service Leader duties.
• Ensure consistent execution of standard operating procedures.
• Represent the brand and understand competition and retail landscape.
• Promote community involvement.
• Leverage omni-channel to deliver a frictionless customer experience.
