Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling paperwork. This role also develops an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited term.

Candidate will participate in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, and store opening/closing tasks while upholding company policies and security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Two or more years in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, counsel, and termination per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with merchandising by facilitating stocking and presentation per standards.
• Assists in all inventory management activities and paperwork.
• Follows ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Follows company policies and security procedures.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Maintains cash controls and cashier accountability.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operates store in the manager's absence.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Completes paperwork and documentation on time.
