Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, and paperwork. This role is for developing external candidates toward the Store Manager position, for a limited period.

Responsibilities include recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, in-stock targets, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail operations and store processes.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, safety rules, and procedures.
• Basic cash handling and deposit controls knowledge.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposits of company funds and cash control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
