Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, inventory management, stocking, and daily operations. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting and staffing, merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, and ensuring a safe, well-stocked store environment. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including deposits and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising including staging, stocking, pricing, and signage.
• Assist in inventory management and conducting inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store as needed and maintain cash controls.
• Ensure a safe, clean, well-stocked store environment.
• Review operating statements for business trends and opportunities.
