Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the SF Main Thrift Store. This full-time benefited role reports to the Store Manager and supports daily operations, staff supervision, and donor/customer service.

The position requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in retail management, POS familiarity, and a valid driver's license. You will help maintain ARC standards and promote Do The Most Good in the local community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years retail management/supervisory experience.
• Operate POS/Cash Register and schedule/supervise store employees.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s license and provide proof of insurance.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Takes active role with Store Manager in day-to-day store operations.
• Assumes responsibility in Store Manager's absence.
• Coaches, trains and develops store employees.
• Maintains strong customer/donor relations and resolves complaints quickly.
• Coordinates daily morning and shift change team meetings in absence of Store Manager.
• Supervises staff to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Provides training on store policies and procedures by The Salvation Army.
