Job description

Insomnia Cookies, a nationally recognized late‑night cookie retail brand, is opening a new store location at Penn Station, New York. We are actively interviewing for Manager in Training (MIT) to join our store opening team.

Base pay range

$21.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Perform as Manager‑on‑Duty during scheduled shifts when Store Ops Manager (GM) is not present
• Supervise, train, and coach 2‑5 team members involved in cookie sales and customer deliveries
• Lead onboarding and initial training for new hourly staff
• Conduct initial interviews for potential new hires (Cookie Crew, Shift Leaders, Delivery Drivers) when the manager is absent
• Support Store Ops Manager with ordering, inventory control, and scheduling
• Hold staff accountable to Insomnia Cookies’ standards (baking, uniform, company policies, etc.)
• Ensure upselling and overall customer service excellence across all team members

Desired Skills & Experience

• At least one year of supervisory experience within a restaurant or retail environment
• Experience conducting in‑person interviews of hourly support staff
• Prior experience with POS systems
• Proficiency with MS Office and our Applicant Tracking System
• Ability to work a 4‑5 day week and 1‑2 mid‑late shifts (Thursday‑Sunday)
• Must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the United States
