Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising employees, managing staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling paperwork. This role is designed to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will support recruiting and staffing, merchandising, inventory controls, cashier procedures, loss prevention, opening and closing duties, and customer service

Qualifications

• Two or more years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising and proper pricing.
• Assists in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and reporting.
• Follows ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Participates in opening and closing activities.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operates store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
