Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, staffing, inventory, and customer service. This role is for a limited period and focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager role while maintaining daily operations.

You will participate in merchandising, ordering, loss prevention, and cash controls, help open/close the store, and ensure a safe, clean, well-stocked environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, leadership/management experience preferred.
• Experience in retail with staffing, merchandising, and inventory is desirable.
• Strong customer service and cash handling skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management and paperwork.
• Follows ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Acts as a role model following company policies and procedures.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures safe deposit of all company funds and cash controls.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operates store in the store manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and expense control.
