Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, receiving and related paperwork. The role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, and inventory control while ensuring adherence to company policies and financial controls.

Qualifications

Two or more years of leadership or managerial experience.
Experience in retail grocery or similar environment is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to recruit, train, and develop staff.
Knowledge of merchandising, pricing, and store presentation practices.

Responsibilities

Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
Support store merchandising and signage, and ensure displays meet standards.
Manage inventory processes including damages, markdowns and paperwork.
Assist in meeting in-stock targets through proper ordering practices.
Provide strong customer service leadership and store operations support.
Participate in store opening and closing activities and cash handling procedures.
Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency.
Complete documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
